Theo Chambers and Sharon Parris-Chambers, founders and producers of the wellness conference has merged three segments of wellness: Health, Spa and Culinary to produce an exciting and wholistic approach to Wellness, which is now being shared with you to further diversity the offerings of this dynamic industry.
The VeggieFest, Spa and Wellness Conference, themed - Wellness Tourism: a Global Phenomenon with a Caribbean Flavour - is a unique wellness professional trade show and conference that promises to showcase the Caribbean Flavour of Health, Spa, and Culinary Tourism. Based on our track record over the years, this event could attract well over 15,000 attendees over the three (3) days.
It is important to note that the Wellness Industry is described as a trillion dollar business and is slated for exponential growth in the next ten years according to Mark Zane Pilzer author of The New Wellness Revolution. As one of the frontrunners in wellness development in Jamaica, we have produced this conference with a view to furthering the development of Jamaica’s Wellness Brand in association with the Ministry of Tourism, and its agencies.

Conference Overview of Exhibition and Workshops
The founders and producers of the wellness conference has merged three segments of wellness: health, spa and culinary to produce an exciting and wholistic approach to wellness, which is now being shared with you to further diversity the offerings of this dynamic industry.
The Health section will feature wellness professionals from around the world sharing their knowledge and expertise in the form of lectures, workshops, demonstrations and certificate courses.
The Spa section will focus on a feeling of wellbeing and rejuvenation. It will feature training such as health tourism integration, spa management, therapeutic massage, a study tour, natural spa products and demonstrations.
The Culinary section will demonstrate and focus on five-star gourmet and gourmand vegetarian food available in the Caribbean, as well as, raw foods, herbal tonics, healthy juices, natural pies, natural herbs & spices and a Farmers Market.
Business sessions are the foundation of the conference and are especially produced with creative solutions for wellness professionals and taught by recognized regional or international industry experts. Dr. Richard Bernal, former Ambassador to Washington D.C. will deliver the keynote presentation on the topic- Tracking the Growth of Wellness in the Caribbean. Theo Chambers, Event Co-Producer and Chairman, Positive Tourism Network, delivers the presentation entitled - Marketing for your Spa & Wellness Business. There will be several other important strategic business presentations to help move your company up the ladder to the pinnacle of success, even during the current economic climate.

Description of Exhibitors:
Exhibitors will include operators from the Health, Spa & Culinary Segments: The producers of the Conference are anticipating a minimum of approximately 5000 persons per day of the three-day event.
In addition, other exhibitors will include vegetarian restaurants, vegetarian food purveyors, juice makers, natural seasoning producers, herb growers, and a farmers market produced by Green Produce Farms.
Health: Wellness Centers, Health Spas, Salons, Exercise & Fitness, Spa Associations, Spa Equipment Manufacturer, Spa Designers/Operators, Spa Technicians, Students of Spa Management Programmes. Dr. Danovan Whyte founder of Natural Health Foundation and his team will be one of many presenters in the health section.
Spa: Resort, Day, Destination, Medical, Wholistic and Indigenous spas; Lifestyle transformation centres, Healing retreats, Meditation centres, Reflexology centres, Wellness centres, Mineral springs and Baths, Retreat centres; and representatives from beauty salons & exercise gyms. Patricia Berry-Greenidge, Principal of Personal Body Healthcare Clinic & School of Holistic Therapies (ITEC Accredited) facilitates How to Qualify for ITEC Complementary Therapies Diploma Courses. She will speak on Spa courses leading to ITEC Accreditation and how to land top paying Spa technician and Spa Management jobs.
ITEC Complementary Therapies Diploma Courses begin October ’09 in Jamaica. In addition, Dr. Reinhard Bergel, world renowned hydrologist and physiotherapist will present on multiple symposium panels.
Culinary: Vegetarian restaurants, All-Inclusive Hotels, Culinary Chefs, Culinary Book Publishers, producers of roots beverages, vegetarian food purveyors, natural juice makers. Culinary Tents showcases the best in the wellness healthy lifestyle with: Olivier LaVoine, Executive Chef of the Hilton Kingston Jamaica; Executive Chef, Anthony Miller, Swept Away; Rosemary Parkinson author of NYAM Jamaica; Dr. Aris Latham, the Father of Ethical Raw Food and the founder of Sunfire Culinary Institute and Detox Centre; Chef Yvonne Hope of Ashanti Oasis; Chef Tassili Ma’at; Kayah Campbell and Baratunde Alexander, originators of Forgotten Foods Remembered, producers of Connoisseur herbal tonics and foods, complete with a Farmers market produced by Patricia Isaacs of Green Produce Farms and other dynamic culinary artists.
